Specifications

Connectivity

All Evnex chargers require an internet connection for continual access to smart features. This charger has Wi-Fi, 4G and ethernet connectivity which is intended to keep it online. If offline for more than 28 days, this charger will lose access to some features such as smart scheduling and solar charging (if enabled). It will continue to operate as a basic 'plug-and-play' charger until it comes back online.

Warranty + Compliance

Residential chargers have a warranty of four years, and commercially-installed chargers have a warranty of three years.

Installation

Professional installation by a certified electrician or installer is required for this charger to function as advertised. This purchase option does not include installation services. You are responsible for organising a professional installation service and ensuring the installer follows all necessary installation instructions.

Please note that if you're in Queensland, installing a home EV charger that draws more than 20 amps requires active device management to manage electricity demand. Evnex chargers comply with this regulation by offering a 20A nameplate rating (4.6 kW), meeting the rules without additional hardware or restrictions.

What is the X22?

The X22 is our fastest home charger, built to deliver up to 22kW on a three-phase supply. That's up to three times faster than our single-phase chargers, and it's purpose-built for long-distance drivers, multi-EV households, or anyone whose vehicle can actually take advantage of the speed.

How fast does the X22 charge?

Up to 120km of range per hour at 22kW, or about 75km per hour at 11kW. A typical EV battery goes from 20% to full in about 2.2 hours at 22kW.

The catch: your car has to be able to accept the speed. Most EVs on the road today max out at 7 to 11kW on AC charging, so the X22's full speed shines for vehicles like the BYD Sealion 7 or other three-phase-capable EVs.

Do I need three-phase power to install the X22?

Not necessarily. The X22 can be wired for either single-phase or three-phase supply. Your sparky configures it at install.

If your home has three-phase power, the X22 is where you unlock the full 22kW.

If your home has single-phase power, you can still install the X22, but you'll be capped at single-phase speeds (7.4kW), the same as an E2. In that case, most people are better off with an E2 Flex, E2 Core, or E2 Plus, which do the same speed for less. The main reason to install an X22 on a single-phase home is future-proofing: if you're planning to upgrade your home to three-phase down the track, the X22 will be ready to run at full speed the moment the upgrade goes in.

What's included with the X22?

Tethered or socketed configuration (you choose at order), Wi-Fi + 4G + Ethernet connectivity, three-phase supply monitoring, overload protection, scheduling, Tesla integration, RFID swipe-card access, and a 4-year residential / 3-year commercial warranty.

Can the X22 work as a workplace or fleet charger?

Yes. The X22 is enterprise-ready. RFID access control means only authorised users can charge, and multi-charger management lets it act as a Server for a network of other Evnex chargers. Great for workplaces, body corporates, and fleets.

Does the X22 support net metering for solar?

Yes. When charging under Solar Diversion, the X22 looks at the total excess across all three phases to work out how much solar is available to divert to the car. So if you've got excess on one phase and import on another, the charger weighs the net total before deciding to charge.
